Typically, kitten season starts in the spring and continues on through late summer or early fall. Animal shelters receive so many unwanted kittens during kitten season that they can use our help now more than ever.

I love cats and we have 3 that we have adopted that are like little fuzzy children. The first thing that we did when we adopted them was to make sure that they were up to date on their immunizations and had been spayed and neutered. Even though our cats are all inside cats, there is always the possibility that one will get loose and be the cause of an unwanted litter of kittens. As much as we adore our cats, we don’t want more than 3.
Not everyone gets their adult cats fixed and that is part of the reason there are so many kittens dropped off during kitten season. During this time, our local shelter needs extra help with food, blankets, toys and of course donations. Hills is doing their part to help as well with their Hills Food Shelter & Love® Program.
