What to Wear for Bladder Leakage

Last Updated on August 3, 2023 by Ellen Christian

I remember a lot of firsts in my life: my first kiss, my first car, my first job. You get the idea. There are a lot of great firsts that I look back on fondly. I don’t look back with fondness on the first time I experienced light bladder leakage. I was getting over bronchitis and I could not stop coughing and it happened. My first thought was that I’m too young for this problem.

  1. HIGH FIVE, Ellen! Thanks for bringing attention to how common bladder leakage is! I'm a women's health physical therapist (now focusing primarily on women's fitness) and effectively strengthening the pelvic floor muscles to prevent and treat bladder leakage is a huge part of what I talk about with my clients. It always makes people squirm at first, but heck --- it's reality for so many of us! Great job bringing awareness to this women's health issue. If people are interested in ways to help PREVENT using Depends, they might be interested in this post: http://femfusionfitness.com/healthy-bladder-good-posture/ (I hope you don't mind me sharing a link!)
