Life, Cooking and HappiMesses

Last Updated on August 17, 2023 by Ellen Christian

Life can be messy. Many of the things in my life that bring back the fondest memories involved me getting messy. I remember finger painting with the kids, learning how to pipe frosting to decorate my daughter’s first birthday cake and playing Hot Wheels in the dirt with my son. I remember fingers sticky with brownie batter, meatloaf mixture and garden dirt.  These are the HappiMesses that I enjoy having in my life and they are the focus of a new campaign by Delta Faucet. Delta Dream20 Showroom #HappiMesses

Life, Cooking and HappiMesses

Just a few days ago, I flew to Chicago for the chance to check out the Delta Dream20 Showroom in the Merchandise Mart.  The Dream20 Showroom is filled with working Delta and Brizo faucets for both the kitchen and the bathroom as well as fully functional showers. It’s described as a place where “The rush of water prompts the flow of inspiration.”

A group of bloggers and I had the chance to have a personal tour through the Delta Dream20 Showroom.  Then, after the tour, we were all set loose to play in the water.  There were all sorts of Delta Faucet products in the showroom.  I found the touch kitchen faucet that I installed last year (and that I still love) along with some very stylish newer models.  I’m completely in love with the touch kitchen faucets because as much as I love HappiMesses in my life, I don’t want want them all over my faucet.

If you thought that touch faucets were pretty cool, you will be thrilled to learn that there is now a technology that turns on the water when your hand is about 4 inches away from the faucet. It’s currently available in some of the Delta Faucet bathroom faucets and I got to play with one!  Then, there were all the amazing shower heads that use a unique wave pattern and larger water droplets to give you a better shower to check out.

After we had a chance to play in the showroom, we all headed over to The Chopping Block for a cooking demonstration that we actually got to be a part of! Chef Gale Gand was there and we were able to make three of the recipes from her latest cookbook Gale Gand’s Lunch! We made a Pea and Garlic Hummus, some delicious variations on Grilled Cheese and some yummy Salted Caramel Brownies. Of course, our fingers and hands got dirty during the cooking demonstration and we were very happy to use the Delta Touch Faucet to clean up with. My favorite was definitely the grilled cheese made with chevre, fresh figs and muenster. Delicious!

  1. I LOVE the idea of a touch faucet for the kitchen - perfect when you're cooking raw meat and don't want to touch the handle. Those are all beautiful fixtures!

  3. I love the term happimesses.  That sums up life with a small child, and I imagine life with a teenager too!  The Delta sinks and shower heads look amazing.  When we update our kitchen faucet I will definitely consider a Delta faucet!

  4. I totally agree that some of the best memories involve the most mess. And we make quite a few messes in my household. I would love to have one of those awesome Delta faucets myself. I'll have to keep them in mind whenever I get around to redoing my bathroom. :)

  5. I think that demo shower with all the Delta shower heads would be my dream way to wake up! I would like to try them all out.  We make plenty of messes in our house. I think it is a hazard of living on a farm. I like to think that my kitchen is a working kitchen... it works just as hard with me to make those messes as to clean up!
