I was invited to attend this event but it was free and open to the public.

It’s not often that I have a day out completely for me. Sure, I go out. I go grocery shopping or to the drug store. I take the kids to school or work. I stop at the bank and sometimes steal a few minutes for a latte. But a whole day, just to go out and do “me things” just doesn’t happen. I was invited to attend Mom’s Day Out at Burlington Town Center and was thrilled to have some special alone time.
Mom’s Day Out at Burlington Town Center
Burlington Town Center is a shopping center in Burlington, Vermont that is located on Church Street. There are 50+ specialty stores including the state’s only Macy’s. During the Mom’s Day Out event, many of the stores in the mall had special sales and deals you could take advantage of for Mother’s Day. A number of stores had displays on the lower level for the event.
Burlington is about a two hour drive north for me. I tend to visit two or three times a year to shop at a few of my favorite stores that I cannot find closer to home. The first thing I did when I arrived was to get a latte from Starbucks. We’ve mentioned my coffee addiction before and the Starbucks in the Burlington Town Center is the closest one to me. After that, I headed toward the lower level, center court for the event.
The Mom’s Day Out event featured free beauty treatments, style tips, special shopping discounts and prizes. My first stop was William’s Sonoma where I enjoyed a Virgin Skinny Margarita made in the Vitamix Professional.
After a bit of wandering while I enjoyed my drink, I stopped by the Crabtree & Evelyn table. I think I’m in love. Have you smelled their new body lotion scents? The Avocado, Olive & Basil is amazing. It left my hands feeling so soft. Of course, we also got to enjoy their nail polish and their new lip butters. Since they had a great deal on the lip butters, I bought three just in case. You can’t have too many lip products, especially when they leave your lips feeling so soft. If you haven’t yet, try the creme de menthe!
During the event, there were prize giveaways and you could sign up for a style make-over from LOFT, Victoria’s Secret, Sunglass Hut and Chico’s. LOFT is one of my favorite stores so I had a nice time checking out their latest styles.
One of my favorite parts of the Mom’s Day Out event was the free mini-facials offered by Origins at Macy’s. I had no idea that they offer this service every single day! I’m not sure that I have ever had someone give me a facial so I really enjoyed this experience. I was a bit worried that I’d have to wander around the mall after my facial with no make up on but thankfully, they reapplied everything that they removed. I was able to experience all sorts of Origins products during my facial. I really love that Origins products are powered by nature. They even have a number of products that are made for people with rosacea like the Dr. Andrew Weil Skin Relief products. I ended up buying the Smarty Plants CC since I loved the coverage I got with it.
I was totally relaxed and feeling pampered at the end of my facial and decided to stop by Teavana to enjoy their newest flavor tea, the Teavana Oprah Chai Tea. If you haven’t tried this yet, you need to. It is a spiced black tea with rooibos and was created in partnership with Oprah Winfrey to support educational opportunities for young people.
If you’re looking for a relaxing day out and a place to pamper yourself, I recommend you stop by Burlington Town Center. Buy a latte from Starbucks, enjoy a mini facial from Origins at Macy’s, and pick up a few of your favorite things.
