Top Chef Finale is Wednesday February 27 at 10pm EST

The Top Chef Finale is Wednesday, February 27th at 10pm EST. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know I’m a huge fan of Top Chef.  If you aren’t familiar with Top Chef, it is a reality competition show on the cable TV network Bravo, where chefs compete against each other in culinary challenges.   Professional chefs and other notables from the food and wine industry judge their efforts and one or more chef contestants is eliminated each week. At the end of the season, one of the chefs will be judged Top Chef and the finale is where that happens!

Top Chef Finale

Of course, everyone has their favorite chef but no one knows who is going to be crowned Top Chef until the finale.  I’ve loved watching the different chefs compete and I am really amazed at all the dishes that have been prepared.  I wish my food looked that good when I put it on the table!  Don’t get me wrong, not all the dishes were ones that I would enjoy eating but they certainly all looked amazing.  The last episode that aired was episode 15 and they all had a challenge to create a dish that represents the defining culinary moment in their life.  Josh and Kristen will be the two chefs heading to the finale.

Almond and chocolate sponge cake

English Pea Broth, Lemon Peel, Apple and Seared Scallop

I really like a number of the dishes that Kristen has prepared during Top Chef.  The Almond and Chocolate Sponge Cake is definitely one of my favorites.   The English Pea Broth, Lemon Peel, Apple, and Seared Scallop is a dish I’d love to try myself.  One of my favorite quotes from Kristen is when she mutters “Hold my tongue. Hold my tongue” under her breath during a stressful time.  She takes responsibility for a situation created by another team member and tries to make the best of a bad situation.  In today’s world of drama, this is a commendable attitude in my opinion.  Kristen’s style is modern and contemporary French cuisine with Italian influences. Her favorite thing to cook is a French macaron.  Kristen is the Chef de Cuisine at Stir – BL Gruppo in Boston, MA.

Check out a preview of episode sixteen which will air on February 20th at 10pm.  I really hope that Kristen wins.  I think that she not only has some amazing talent and creates recipes that look delicious but she also has the character of someone who isn’t going to compromise on what she knows is right to get ahead.   Have you been watching Top Chef? Do you have a favorite chef contestant? Who do you think will be the winner?  Make sure you tune in on Wednesday February 27 at 10pm EST for the finale!
