If someone had told me that I would be walking around some of the same places that movie stars and celebrities do, I never would have believed it. After all, there’s not a whole bunch of celebrity action happening in small town, Vermont. When Warner Bros. invited me to attend the #outmywindow event and VIP Studio tour, I was thrilled. It was not only my very first trip to California, it was my very first trip to see where movies are actually filmed. After a very (very) long flight, I arrived at the beautiful Le Montrose Hotel in West Hollywood on Sunday evening. I hung out and relaxed and tried to adjust to the time change from Vermont to California.
First thing Monday morning, we all got the chance to visit and chat over some Starbucks coffee and pastries. I had a great time meeting all of the bloggers that had been invited to the event. A few of them, I already *knew* online like Yolanda Machado (Sassy Mama in LA), Caryn Bailey (Rockin Mama), Chelsea Skaggs (Some Day I’ll Learn), and Lori Pace (A Day In Motherhood). Everyone was really nice and it was fun getting to know all the bloggers and Warner Bros. reps.
After coffee, we headed over to the Warner Bros. building to head out on our VIP Tour. We got to tour some of the buildings that several television programs were filmed at like Pretty Little Liars, Golden Girls, Friends and Shameless just to name a few. Do you recognize this from Pretty Little Liars?
Or maybe you recognize the church from Lost Boys? One of my favorite movies!
We actually got to go inside some of these buildings and check out the sets. It was so interesting to see behind the scenes of the programs we see on television. I learned that there aren’t really second floors when they shoot the movies, they just adjust things so you think there is a second floor. We got to see prop rooms for many different programs and everything looked so realistic! We visited the Warner Bros. museum where we saw actual outfits and props from programs like the The Closer, Matrix and Casablanca. There was even a whole floor devoted to Harry Potter! I was able to wear the sorting hat and I was sorted into Hufflepuff! The kids were sooo jealous when I told them! We weren’t allowed to take photographs in the Warner Bros. Museum but I would have loved to get a picture of me wearing the sorting hat! We did get to take some photos at the car museum though. Check out Lori Pace and I in front of the General Lee. Pretty cool right?
We even got to check out Central Perk from Friends!
I had a really amazing time at the Warner Bros. VIP Tour and #OutMyWindow event. If you’re ever in California, I highly recommend you take this tour! I’ll have more information on OutMyWindow in a few days so stay tuned! Check out the rest of my photos as well.
