Original Dish Drying Mat & contest to win a Bed Bath & Beyond GC

Original Dish Drying Mat

Original Dish Drying Mat

Doing dishes is far from my favorite house keeping activity. I don’t like the waste of disposables so I rarely use them and that means I have  lot of dishes especially on days that I bake.  I don’t have a dishwasher and like many busy moms, I do dishes once a day.  Doing dishes once a day generally means that my dish drainer is piled high and I have a few kitchen towels on the counter to put the extra dishes on. No, it’s probably not the best solution but that’s all I could figure out to do besides stopping and drying the dishes in the drainer and then washing more and that just takes too much time.

I recently learned about an innovative new product called The Original Dish Drying Mat. This dish mat is an alternative to folded dish towels on your counter. This 16″ x 18″ mat is a much better solution to the problem of too many dishes.  Each mat holds four times its weight in water so that means no damp towels and no wet counter tops.  Not only is The Original Dish Drying Mat more absorbent, it’s lightly padded so it helps protect your delicate dishware from damage. The towels fold easily to be stored away when they aren’t in use and of course, they are machine washable and stand up very well to use. If you’d rather, each Original Dish Drying Mat has a loop on it so it can be hung up to be stored instead. The Original Dish Drying Mat is available in grey, cream, green, and red.

The Original Dish Drying Mat

The Original Dish Drying Mat is really quite versatile. It can be used underneath your dish drainer to catch the water that drains from the dishes. You can use it on the counter to place delicate stemware on so it isn’t damaged. You can even use it on your counter to protect it from scratches from appliances.  My counters are about 50 years old so it’s really not an issue for me but if you have newer counters, it’s certainly a great solution. You could even use it on the table to place your condiments or lazy Susan on to protect it from scratches & wear. You can toss it in the washing machine if it gets soiled and it’s certainly easier to clean than scrubbing a dish drainer pan.

The Original Dish Drying Mat has a contest on their Facebook page right now for a chance to win $1,000 Bed Bath & Beyond GC or nine $100 Bed Bath & Beyond GC’s. They are giving the first 500 who participate in the contest a free dish drying mat! Head over and enter now!

Now THAT would come in very handy! I usually go the dish towel route myself and it is not a great system! Thanks for sharing the contest info…
