One of the home based businesses I run is a pet sitting business. I take care of people’s pets in their home while they’re on vacation. Besides feeding, playing with and cleaning up after them, I also walk the dogs three times a day so they get their exercise.
Since I live in rural Vermont, most of my clients do as well. That means when it comes time to take their dogs for a walk at night, it’s generally pitch black. We don’t have street lights on our roads here. As much as I love going for a walk, walking alone in a neighborhood I’m not familiar with in the dark just isn’t something that I enjoy. It’s awkward to try to carry a flashlight and keep a dog under control.
Safetyflash is a sturdy ergonomic handle that attaches to any pet leash. It provides a powerful LED flashlight, a flashing warning light, and a loud emergency alarm. The handle is black and made of heavy plastic. It’s quite easy to clip onto your dog’s leash and the light is bright enough so that I can see where I’m going easily.
The Safetyflash Pet Handle uses 3 AAA batteries for the light and 3 button cell batteries for the alarm buzzer. Since you only use them both for a short period of time, the batteries last a long time. I really love the security of knowing that I can easily see what’s around me in the dark. Having the buzzer is a great idea just in case you might need it. This would make a great gift for anyone who walks their dog alone at night but especially the elderly because of the ergonomic handle. It’s so much more comfortable than trying to hold onto a leash.

I'd like to own this because I frequently take my minpin out for walks in the evening. The path we take goes through the park, up a hill and then over a trail along the river. It's a somewhat isolated path, though there are homes further down below that can be seen along the way. And I tend to get a little nervous as there are quite a lot of wildlife around such as raccoons, snakes, and the like. And she likes to challenge anything that moves lol. I think this could come in handy.
